What do I do now to prepare?
Make your intention for a Hajj that is accepted by Allah.
Apply for your passport.
Make a conscious effort to practice more patience (you will need
it).
Prepare for the well being of your family while you are away.
Start reading about hajj.
Start to exercise (at lease start long walks).

Waiting times?
There will often be times when you will have to wait, schedule
plans will change, the situation will dictate how long. Unlike
America, normally there is not a lot
of rushing
around
and during Hajj season things move even slower due to the vast
number of people.
We suggest you carry a small Qu'ran and other reading material
in your carry-on bag and READ! Allah subhannah wa'ta ala is with
you
no matter what you are doing (even when you feel like you are doing
nothing or would like to be doing something other than what you
are doing). Remember Allah throughout your entire journey, do not
become distracted by the small things. STAY FOCUSED!

Travel to Medina?
Yes, the travel arrangements are a little different every year
so check the current years itinerary when posted. However, the
group usually enters Saudi Arabia about eleven (11) days before
hajj and travels to Medina by plane. The group usually stays
in Medina at least four (4) days in four and five star hotels,
four people per room.
The hotels are usually within a one to two blocks walking distance
from the Masjid.
We usually spend approximately one week (5 days) in Mecca before
Hajj starts (8th Dhul Hijja). Plan for a total of approximately 18
days for the total trip.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you carry luggage everywhere?
No, while in Medina and Mecca, luggage is secured until the group
is ready to travel to another location Hotel safes are
available for valuables.
Luggage is limited to ONE large suit case and a carry-on, STRICT
LUGGAGE POLICY will be enforced. Excess luggage could be a burden
in more ways than one. The weight of the bags you have to carry
can be a burden and if your bags are over weight, you could be charged
at the airport. Charges at the Saudi airport for OVER WEIGHT bags
can be significant. You do not want to be in the airport picking
through your bag to find things (usually purchased while traveling)
you have to leave because you do not have the money to pay for over
packing.
Pack
very light,
you
can
get
most of the items you need during your travel. However, Less is
Best!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Distance from Hotels?
Our accommodations are within walking distance from
Haram in Makkah & Madinah. Travelers will be close enough
to make every salat in the masjids if they desire.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Distance from Jammarat in Mina?
Our accommodations are within walking distance from the Jamarat
(literally only steps away).
Like many other Hajj package providers, we choose not to cut cost by staying
at
the American
camp in Mina because of its distance from the Jamarat. The distance is not
acceptable because of the hardship it can bring to many of our travelers and
falls below our own standards of quality.
